The stunning victory by 51 runs has now set up a dream final clash to end this ACC Emerging Men’s Asia Cup 2023 between India A and Pakistan A. Pakistan A beat Sri Lanka A in the other semi-final match by 60 runs and became the first team to reach the final.

The match did not start well for the Indian team, as they started slowly and lost Sai Sudharsan early on in the innings. Abhishek Sharma and Nikin Jose stitched together a partnership, but then the team started losing wickets at regular intervals.

It was captain Yash Dhull who led from the front and played a calm and composed knock under pressure. He batted, holding one end, and ensured India had a fighting score on the board. India finished the first innings with 211 runs, and Dhull made a crucial 66 runs out of those on a difficult track with a lot of help for the spinners.

It was not going to be an easy task for the Bangladesh batters to chase this down against a strong Indian bowling attack that included three left-arm spinners and two right-arm spinners, all off-spinners, on a turning track.

They did start well as they raced to 70 runs in no time, but then started a series of constant wicket falls at regular intervals as the Indian spin duo of Nishant Sindhu and Manav Suthar took charge.

Mohammad Naim and Tanzid Hasan, both openers, were the best batters for Bangladesh A in the match as they laid the foundation of the chase for the team. For India, Nishant Sindhu was the pick of the bowlers, as he took 5 wickets and Manav Suthar took 3.

The Indians were spot-on with their fielding as well; they took a lot of excellent close-in catches and kept the opposition batters on their toes. It was an excellent display of captaincy by Yash Dhull, who now has a chance to win another major tournament as India’s captain.
