IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma Set a New World Record in Test Cricket

The series between India and West Indies is certainly getting more and more exciting. Even though it is completely a one-sided series. But for India, it is certainly a series for records. In the first match, it was Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yashasvi Jaiswal who made several records. And now in the 2nd Test match, Rohit Sharma has set the tone for the team, through his batting and records. Rohit has made the record of more consecutive 10 or more runs scored in Test cricket.

Most consecutive 10 or more runs in Test Cricket

The Hitman Rohit Sharma scored 10 or more scores consecutively for the 30th time in Test Cricket history. The previous best was 29, and that record was held by Mahela Jayawardene for a long time. But now Rohit Sharma has taken that record under his name.

The road ahead for Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma made his international debut in the year 2007. But due to his lack of temperament in Test Cricket, he has been in and out of the team. The players who joined the Indian team later on, have played over 90 or 100 Test matches till now. Rohit has played only 52 Test matches till now, but it is much less than what he could have achieved. However, after scoring 10th Test century, and doing well as a Test captain, Sharma looks in good flow.

After missing out on a number of Test matches, it is clear that Rohit Sharma will not be able to achieve the feat of 10000 runs in the Test. But still, he has a good chance of being counted in the list of one of the best Test captains of Indian history. For that, he needs to ensure that he gets more wins for the Indian fans.
