IND Vs AUS 1st Test Day 1 : Ravindra Jadeja returns in style! Removes 3 Aussie batters in quick succession!

After an Injury hiatus of almost 6 months, Gujarat born All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja returned to the International circuit for the first time since September 2022. The lefty returned to his playing ways last month for Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy 2022/23.

The premier all-rounder was heavily missed by India during the ICC T20 World cup after Jadeja sustained a fringe injury in the midst of Asia Cup T20 2022. But after full recovery, the 34-year-old staged his return in the best possible way as he removed a set Australian batter (Labischagne) and caught Matt Renshaw’s leg before wicket in the following delivery.

India started the game on a high as Mohammad Shami and Siraj removed David Warner and Usman Khawaja for the scores of 1 respectively. Later, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith steadied the Aussie innings but the 1st session went pretty much in favor of the hosts.

However, Ravindra Jadeja picked 2 crucial wickets right after the Lunch break. First he broke a dangerous looking partnership between Labuschagne and Smith on 82 as the former was stumped out for 49 to hand KS Bharat a stumping on his debut.

In the very next ball of the over (35.6) Matt Renshaw was caught LBW to get Jadeja on a hat-trick. Although he could not get a hat-trick on his return, but soon he bowled Steve Smith out for 37 off 107 as he pitched the ball perfectly and found the gap between Smith’s Bat and pad.

India are once again looking in a commanding position in session as Australia are down by 5 wickets.
