“If Kohli surpasses this record of Sachin Tendulkar it will be biggest achievement of his career” reveals former India player Sanjay Manjrekar

Every field has always had comparisons, and cricket, the most popular and dominated sport, is no exception. We frequently pit the best teams and players against one another.

The two best batters India has ever produced in all three forms of the game, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, are frequently compared in the cricketing community.

Regardless of what Kohli has claimed in many media outlets, Sachin is the cause for his passion of cricket.

Virat Kohli

There is no comparison to Sachin when it comes to skill level, in Kohli’s opinion. He is the most complete batsman the game has ever produced.

While Kohli is still playing, Tendulkar, who retired from cricket, has accumulated 100 international centuries across all three formats of the game.

When Kohli’s career is through, many fans and journalists predict that he will have scored more than 100 hundreds, but it will take time.

Sachin Tendulkar

In ODI matches, Kohli is only 4 centuries behind Tendulkar in terms of most hundreds scored, but in Test matches, the longest version of the game, Kohli is well behind with 27 centuries to Tendulkar’s 51.

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former India cricketer turned commentator, believes that despite Virat Kohli’s incredible accomplishments over the past 10 to 12 years, he still needs to score more hundreds in Test matches if he wants to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 51 Test hundreds. Manjrekar believes that Kohli has the potential to surpass Tendulkar’s record.

With 45 ODI centuries under his belt, Kohli is undoubtedly an ODI great, but he still has to score more centuries in the game’s longest format to become an all time great.
