Rohit replied in response to the question where he said that he desperately wanted to get into that squad because deep down he knew that this squad will do wonders and If he was part of the squad he would have celebrated with those champions.

He further asserted that he blames himself for his exclusion in 2011 World Cup squad as his form with the willow wasn’t good back in those days but he took that on the chin and changed himself as a cricketer.

“I was so desperate to get into the team and do well and I know the sort of team we had that time, we had the best chance of winning the WC, so I wanted to be a part of that WC and if I get an opportunity, try and make a difference. Down the line, I want to blame myself and not anyone. Maybe I didn’t have a great run before the tournament and that kind of setback was needed to improve and understand my game better. In a way, it did good to me, I came back as a different person altogether. I sort of completely changed everything – especially the mindset and technical aspect of the game after that,” said Rohit.

Any player would have love to be in 2011 World Cup squad which India won as winning the world cup at home turf is certainly one of the best moments of any cricketers career and winning world cup in Cricket is similar to winning Olympic gold its just the eyeballs on which both the sports are witnessed might be different but the reward and satisfaction is pretty same.
