The Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill has been in outstanding form in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). In 16 games, the 24-year-old opener has scored 851 runs. Gujarat’s success this season has been greatly influenced by Gill’s performance.
Gill plays all kinds of bowling thanks to his excellent technique. He can make massive shots and is quite skilled at identifying the gaps in defences.
In the IPL, he has also displayed excellent maturity and composure. Under pressure, he has maintained his composure and avoided letting his anxiety get the better of him.
Due to this, comparisons to legendary players like Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar have been made.
There have been suggestions that #ShubmanGill can carry forward the batting legacies of legend #SachinTendulkar and star cricketer #ViratKohli https://t.co/68MKBCzn0c

In an interview with ANI, Gill discussed his feelings towards the praise, saying, “See, it’s great when people see it, but I don’t really see that way because the generation that all of these people, Sachin sir, Virat bhai, and Rohit Sharma have inspired is beyond.”
“Had we not won the 1983 World Cup, had there not been a Sachin Tendulkar, would I have been as inspired had we not won the 2011 World Cup? Maybe, maybe not. Therefore, these kinds of legacies and things are eternal. Their legacies are difficult to identify, Gill said.
The most number of centuries by any hitter in this IPL season is three, which Gill has accumulated so far. Gill will play in the IPL 2023 Final, which will take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium against Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.
