I am extremely pleased to see Manchester City coming back to their wining form: Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is pleased to see his club take a step towards their best form, following a 4-0 win against Watford ahead of next month’s Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

The real highlight of their impressive performance was the goal from Raheem Sterling and equally complemented by the goals from Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte, as they played a major role for the club in returning back to the winning ways after getting defeated from Arsenal on Saturday in the FA cup semi-finals.

This victory will certainly give a lot of confidence to City players and if they keep continuing their form like this they still have a chance ahead of their last-16 second-leg meeting with Madrid at the Etihad.

I want to recover who we are as players, I want to recover who we are as a team, especially with the ball attacking more and defensively,’ Guardiola said.

Guardiola also talked about his players like Joao Cancelo and Oleksandr Zinchenko where they are both battling to start at left-back for the next match against Madrid.

“’He understands us better than the beginning and we understand him better,’ the Man City manager said of Cancelo.” he stated.

I know exactly what Oleks can do. I know him very well and I want to know how Joao (can) move in this area.

Now we are going to have another game (against Norwich) and after we have two weeks and I will see. I will look at the training session and smell how the players’ commitment is and how they are able to play this game.’ He added.

He is happy with the fact that Raheem Sterling has 29 goals to his name this season but for City to do well, other players need to step up their game in order to beat the opponents like Liverpool, who are displaying top-class football at the moment.

I love when the player can achieve their desires and score goals,’ he added.

I am happy for this commitment to score a goal but Raheem has to know, like all of us have to know, we were far away from Liverpool.

‘It is the first time (this season) we are able to win four games in a row in the Premier League.

That means how poor our consistency was this season because we are the same people. It happened because something was wrong and it is something we’ll work on next season.’ He concluded.
