Hardik Pandya’s father says family had no idea about son’s engagement

After all-rounder Hardik Pandya took to social media to announce the news of his engagement to actress Natasa Stankovic, many people were surprised, including many of his teammates, especially Team India skipper Virat Kohli. However, it turns out that Hardik’s decision to get engaged was a pretty spontaneous one. Speaking to IANS, Hardik’s father Himanshu Pandya said,

“Natasa is a very nice girl, and we have met her in Mumbai on a number of occasions. We knew that they were going on a vacation to Dubai, but had no clue that they were going to get engaged. This took us by surprise. We came to know about it after they got engaged.”

When asked about when the wedding will take place, the father said, “We haven’t decided on that yet, but I am sure that it will be decided soon.” A close friend of Hardik, who did not wish to be named, shared, “I had been invited for the engagement but could not attend it since it was in Dubai and I was busy with some work. It was a sudden development, and I was informed just about a week back. They have no immediate plans of tying the knot, and it might happen later in the year or even next year.”

The 26-year-old cricketer has emerged as one of the best all-rounders in India. He came into the limelight after he started playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL after which he went onto play for India. He is now a regular in the team and has also played several match-winning knocks.

However, he is currently out of the setup as he is recovering from an injury and it is still not sure when he will be back. In his absence, Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube and Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar have been getting chances at the highest level.
