KKR spinner, Kuldeep Yadav has said that he strongly believed that Kolkata Knight Riders should have won 2019 edition of IPL. The team, however, finished at fifth position. They earned 12 points in 14 matches played in the cash-rich league.  In 2018, KKR notable performances helped them secure a place in the playoffs. However, they lost the eliminator match against Sunrisers Hyderabad

I had a strong feeling last year that we would win. Even in 2018, we were playing great cricket and I was sure we would win the title. I remember the match we lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad (in qualifier 2). I was out of the ground because my spell was over. They were on 125 and I thought they would not go beyond 145. But Rashid Khan came into the middle and changed the game. We were just one step away from entering the final,” Kuldeep Yadav was quoted as saying on KKR’s official website.

It was a heart-breaking moment when we lost the match. If we can strike a good combination, we can certainly win it this year. After all, it’s cricket, we will win sooner or later,” he added.

The thirteenth edition of IPL will be played between 19th September and 10th November 2020. The matches will be played at three venues- Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. All the teams have landed in UAE and have begun their preparations for the much-awaited tournament.

Kolkata Knight Riders is one of the most popular teams in IPL. They qualified for the playoffs for the first time in 2011 and won the title in 2012 after defeating Chennai Super Kings in the finals. It was followed by another title in 2014 after defeating Kings Eleven Punjab in the final.

With some valuable overseas additions in the upcoming edition of the tournament likes Pat Cummins, Eoin Morgan and Tom Banton, KKR is counted as one of the teams to watch for in the upcoming edition.
