G2 Completes 2024 VCT Roster with Top-Tier VALORANT Duelist

Valorant

G2 has finally completed its lineup for the 2024 VALORANT season in VCT Americas after an extensive search and trials. They have secured Nathan “leaf” Orf, the former standout duelist from Cloud9, who will assume the crucial duelist entry role for the squad, especially after their recent victory in Ascension.

This move solidifies G2’s roster for the 2024 VCT Americas season. The organization acted swiftly to sign the players from The Guard after Riot allowed them to explore offers from different teams following their release from their previous organization. G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte revealed that G2 outperformed a significant number of organizations, with approximately 17 of them competing for the opportunity to acquire these players, though some reports suggest the number could be even higher.

When speaking to Dot Esports on September 22, Dechelotte mentioned that the organization was still deliberating on their fifth player during a unique offseason period. In the duelist category alone, considering VCT Americas talent, potential candidates like jawgemo, leaf, aspas, yay, and Demon1 were all being considered at the time of his statement.

Leaf makes his entry into the G2 roster following a three-year journey with Cloud9, marked by numerous roster changes, an appearance at the international event Champions 2021, but also moments where the team fell short of qualifying for even more international tournaments.

Coincidentally, Cloud9 has brought back an old face, in-game leader Anthony “vanity” Malaspina, and is relying on Francis “OXY” Hoang, a potential breakout star who played for G2 last year, to fill in for leaf’s responsibilities. While Cloud9 has already played during the offseason, leaf and G2 will make their debut in a showmatch against Sentinels on Thursday, October 26.

G2’s acquisition of Nathan “leaf” Orf not only finalizes their roster for the 2024 VALORANT season in VCT Americas but also adds an elite duelist to their ranks, bolstering their chances in the competitive scene. With this strategic move, G2 has navigated a competitive market, positioning themselves for a promising season. Leaf’s transition from Cloud9 to G2 marks a significant chapter in his career, and the team’s debut against Sentinels promises to be a thrilling event that Valorant fans won’t want to miss.
