FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 : India will face this team in the crossovers

India defeated Wales 4-2 in their final Pool D match to finish second in the group with seven points.

England moved to the quarterfinals due to a greater goal difference, while India had to settle for a place in the crossover match. India will now face the team that finished third in Pool C.

On Thursday, New Zealand dropped its last group game against Malaysia, 3-2, and will face India in the crossover. Malaysia, on the other hand, will play Spain in a crossover match.

The winner of the match between India and New Zealand advances to the quarterfinals and will face the winner of Pool B. According to the points table, either Belgium or Germany can win Pool B.

Wales will return home with pride in their accomplishments. In the second half, India came out swinging and put Wales under extreme pressure. Wales’ response saw them pull off the unbelievable and score twice. We can now discard all the permutations and combinations we discussed prior to this game. India came in second, and England took first place in the group.

While they both have seven points, England has a goal differential of seven while India has a goal differential of three.
