EX-Indian Cricketer slammed Selectors for ignoring Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan

Ex-Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar slammed The All India Selection Committee, headed by Chetan Sharma, for ignoring rising sensation Sarfaraz Khan despite his blazing form at home. Sarfaraz, a bright young player who was overlooked for the high-profile Test series between India and Australia, added another hundred to his impressive run on the domestic Indian circuit.

A few days ago, former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad criticised the national selectors for overlooking Sarfaraz, and now batting great Gavaskar showed his support for the in form batsman by taking a stinging jab at the All India Selection Committee.

While giving the opinion Gavaskar said that players should not be judged on the basis of their height or shape rather they should be selected on the basis of performance and skills. Further he added more by saying ‘”You might as well go to a fashion show and select some models, give them a bat and ball in their hands, and then improve them if all you want skinny and trim males. Cricket doesn’t operate in that manner. Cricket players come in a variety of sizes and forms. Consider the scores or wickets rather than the size. When he achieves 100 points, he does not leave the field. He is once more playing on the field. The dude is fit, which is all that this tells you.

The way Sarfaraz is playing, deserves to be selected for the upcoming test series. Fresh talent continued his captivating run on the home Indian circuit by scoring another 100. Sarfaraz has scored 3 centuries in 2023 edition of the Ranji Trophy, till now. This demonstrates that he is a cricket fit and if a person is a cricket fit then, there shouldn’t be any further issues.
