England and CSK all rounder Sam Curran has been ruled out of IPL and T20 World Cup 2021

Sam Curran has become the backbone for the English white ball team and CSK in the last few years has been dealt with a blow as he has been ruled out from the ongoing edition of IPL and upcoming T20 World Cup 2021 due to a lower-back injury.

In his place, his brother Tom Curran who was initially in the three-man reserve squad has been added to the main squad in his place Reece Topley has been added as a reserve.

Sam Curran’s form in the second leg of IPL 2021 is not up to the mark as he didn’t get much opportunity to bat with the bowl he has leaked 55 runs for his four-over against Rajasthan Royals.

“Results of the scan revealed the injury,” an ECB release said. “He will fly back to the UK in the next couple of days and will have further scans and a full review later this week from the ECB’s medical team.”

In his two games for CSK in the second leg of IPL 2021 has conceded 111 runs with no wickets and due to his poor form, Dwayne Bravo has been given preference as an all-rounder.

Tom Curran so far hasn’t played a single game in IPL’s second leg but his form in the Hundred for Oval Invincibles has been quite satisfactory where he has taken 10 wickets.

Most of the English players are playing in IPL and the remaining players will be reaching Oman soon and will be practicing there for 10 days before moving to Dubai where they will be playing a warm-up game against India on September 18th, 2021.
