There cannot be a better comeback from maternity leave. Elina Svitolina has made a historical comeback by beating the World’s no.1 Tennis player in the Quarter-finals, to reach the Semi-Finals. Svitolina has mentioned that even she is not able to believe the fact that she has made a comeback. This is certainly a very inspiring comeback, and at the same time, it also shows the willpower women possess.  Now she only needs to ensure that she goes on to win the next game.

A tough quarterfinal for Mama

The quarter-final for Elina was not that easy to win. It was full of ups and downs. But she had the will to move further and win the game. You can see the key moments of the match below. 

  • In the first set, Svitolina ensured to put pressure on the world no.1 so that she can get the momentum for the rest of the match. She was successful in doing that, by winning the first set by 7-5. 
  • In the second set, Iga Świątek showed her class and the reason she is the no.1 player in the world. But Svitolina made it tough for her to win that set. In the end, somehow, IgaŚwiątek won the second set by 7-6(5). 
  • The last and final set was certainly very exciting. Both the players were ready to prove their worth. But Svitolina was in top flow by that time, and in the end, she was able to win the final set by 6-2. 

In the end, Mama won the Quater-finals of the Wimbledon 

The fight Svitolina showed in the match was certainly very inspiring. This shows that she is one of the toughest contenders for the Wimbledon Cup. Her Competitors are certainly going to take her very seriously. 

However, it is still a long road for Svitolina. But at the same time, there is no doubt, that she had already made a brilliant comeback.
