Michael Hutter, better known by his ring name EC3 as Ethan Carter III, is an American professional wrestler, currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment on the Raw brand. He started his wrestling career as a professional wrestler in 2002 with Independent wrestling platforms. He wrestled for Pro Wrestling Ohio under the ring name “Deviant” Michael Hutter.
From 2002 to 2008, Hutter was involved in several wrestling promotions that include Ohio Valley Wrestling, Derby City Wrestling, and Firestorm Pro Wrestling. Hutter joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2009 and was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling under the ring name Derrick Bateman. He teamed up with Johnny Curtis to win the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. Throughout his initial tenure with WWE, he wrestled in the fourth and fifth seasons of NXT. In 2013, he was released from his contract. He returned to the independent circuit.
In 2018, Ethan returned to WWE and its developmental territory NXT. He has won several championships in his career such as the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, AIW (Absolute Intense Wrestling) Absolute, Firestorm Pro Heavyweight, HOG (House of Glory) World Heavyweight, TNA World Heavyweight (2 times). He has also held the WWE 24/7 Championship four times.

Hutter signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2009 and was assigned to its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) under the ring name, Derrick Bateman. where he managed to win the Tag Team title with assists of Johnny Curtis.
During his initial tenure with WWE, he wrestled in the fourth and fifth seasons of NXT. In 2013, he was released from his contract. From 2013 to 2018, he wrestled at several Independent wrestling promotions like Evolve Wrestling, Omega Championship Wrestling and many more. In 2018, Ethan, returned to WWE and its developmental territory NXT.
Throughout his tenure with Total NonStop Action, he feuded with several superstars like Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Sting, and many others. He formed a group named Team Dixi, active from 2013 to 2015. He held the World Heavyweight Championship twice between 2015 to 2016. In the year 2017, Carter defeated Moose via split decision to win the Impact Grand Championship. Carter also battled and defeated sumo wrestler Ryota Hama. Carter and Tyrus became the TNA World Tag Team Championship number one contender’s tournament defeating Eric Young and Rockstar Spud in the quarterfinals only to lose to The Hardys.
Ethan has held several championships such as the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, AIW (Absolute Intense Wrestling) Absolute, Firestorm Pro Heavyweight, HOG (House of Glory) World Heavyweight, TNA World Heavyweight (2 times). Ethan Carter has also played a small character role in a horror movie named The Vanishing. In WWE, he has become the four-time WWE 24/7 Champion.
Hutter made his video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K19 and now in WWE 2K20.
