Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran has given a big reaction to the team’s historic win against KKR in IPL 2024. He has expressed concern about the continuous high-scoring matches this season of IPL. Sam Curran said that cricket has now become baseball.

Scores of more than 250 have been achieved in many matches of this IPL season. The number of 250 runs scored this season was not that many in the last 16 years of IPL. IPL 2024 is proving to be the iconic season of history in terms of runs scored.

In the match between KKR and Punjab Kings, both the teams scored more than 250 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders played brilliantly in the first inning. However, Punjab Kings easily chased KKR’s target of 262 runs.

Sam Curran reacted to the victory of Punjab Kings During the conversation after the match, Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran gave a big reaction. He believes that cricket is slowly turning into baseball now. He said, 

I am very happy with this victory. However, cricket is now turning into baseball. It was a very difficult few weeks for us but in this match we chased such a big total. I’m happy for Jonny Bairstow. He played an excellent innings. Shashank Singh is scouting the tournament for us. Ashutosh is also in the same way. I am proud of everyone.

Punjab Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets

The 42nd match of IPL 2024 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings on Friday. In this match played at Eden Garden, Punjab Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders badly by 8 wickets. 

Batting first, KKR scored 261 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs but despite this they lost the match. Punjab Kings achieved this target by losing only two wickets in 18.4 overs. This is the biggest run chase in T20 history. 

Jonny Bairstow scored a tremendous century for Punjab Kings. He played an unbeaten inning of 108 runs with the help of 8 fours and 9 sixes in 48 balls. Prabhsimran Singh scored 54 runs on 20 balls. Whereas Shashank Singh played an unbeaten inning of 68 runs with the help of 2 fours and 8 sixes in 28 balls.
