Trent Boult has been a key member for Mumbai Indians in this edition and he was praised for his performance in IPL 2020 by skipper Rohit Sharma who has no hesitation in saying that the “New Zealand pacer” right now is the best new ball bowler in T20 format. Rohit said this ahead of their final encounter against Delhi Capitals today at the Dubai International Stadium.

Boult was the standout performer for Delhi in 2018 IPL season. For Delhi he took 18 wickets from 14 games despite that they finished at last place in that edition. He didn’t play much games in 2019 was traded to Mumbai for IPL 2020 and his ability to swing the new ball has become an asset for the defending champions in the ongoing IPL 2020 edition.
“We wanted someone who can get us breakthroughs in the powerplay and when we got Trent Boult it was icing on the cake. He is the best new-ball bowler going around. We have Bumrah as well, he can bowl quality balls at any time” Rohit said this in a video posted in MI official Twitter Handle.
“But Boult with the new ball swings for us and that’s very crucial for us. And he has done really well in the tournament,” he added.

Boult has taken 22 wickets in the ongoing edition of IPL will be taking confidence from his performance against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 where he dismantled the batting of the latter franchise by taking 2 wickets in the very first over. Mumbai Indians will be looking to repeat the feat as they are the defending champions and if they lift the title this year it will be their fifth IPL title.

It is certainly strange for the first time top two teams who finished at the top in the league standings will be locking horns against each other to lift the title.
