Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 : India is definitely going to miss this star cricketer reveals Ian Chappell

Even though India will start as strong favourites in the next four-match Test series, which begins in Nagpur on Thursday, former captain Ian Chappell believes Rishabh Pant’s presence would have caused Australia captain Pat Cummins sleepless nights. Pant was involved in a terrible vehicle accident in December of last year, and despite having many surgeries on his knee and heel, he is still in the hospital.

“India are really going to really miss Rishabh Pant. The Australians will be happy. He is a counter attacker, the guy who keep you awake are guys who score quickly and changes game in one session. Pant was one such player,” Chappell said during an interaction organised by Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the Test series for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Chappell, regarded as one of the most authoritative voices in cricket, believes that Ravichandran Ashwin will undoubtedly pose the largest threat, but that the Australian hitters must take proactive measures to counteract him.

Why does Ashwin seem like a threat? because he plays cricket well. Ashwin is going to be a hassle forever. Now you are in trouble if you allow him to bowl the way he wants to bowl. He will always pose a threat to Australia. They must take initiative, according to Chappell.
