Big Breaking: Post Rohit Sharma Captaincy Tenure; Shreyas Iyer to be named as new India Captain; Reports
Indian Cricket Team will undergoes massive Transformation post T20 World Cup as it might be last World Cup for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli so Men in Blue will be lurking all the chances to win the prize possession which they have failed to win in last 10 years.
Post Sharma and Kohli these two spots will be vacant and the team would be looking to fill that gap with experienced batters and there are several players in contention, including the likes of Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer who might take the spot.
Based on reports in distinct media outlets, Iyer might become India’s Captain in the future which in itself is shocking as the players like Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are the front runners to become the leader.
“Shreyas Iyer unlike Hardik Pandya or Ravindra Jadeja has been groomed as Captain for Team India as he has come through the system” MSK Prasad Former India Chief Selector said while taking to RevSportz.
He praised Iyer for his brilliant Captaincy, and stated his brilliant leadership record for India A where he added ” He led India A side under our helm and you would be surprised to hear that 10 series that he played as Captain he was able to win 8 out of them. He has been in and around as Captain. He has been groomed for that particular slot” said Prasad while discussing things in detail with RevSportz.

“His records were so good that we thought post Kohli and Sharma, he would be ideal candidate to lead the side” he concluded.
Looking at his brilliant Captaincy record for KKR under his leadership the franchise have won 8 games out of 11 where they scored 16 points and they currently sit at the top of the points table.
This in itself indicate the brilliant captaincy from Iyer but the question arises as the ace player is no more part of T20 setup as Men in Blue will be engaging in more shorter formats, so how would he get a spot in the shortest formats only time will tell.
