Big Blow for IPL teams! England players will leave IPL 2024 midway

The caravan of IPL 2024 is about to reach its final stage. So far, around 50 matches have been played in the tournament and the last match of the league stage will be played on May 19. IPL playoff matches will start on May 21 but England players will not be able to take part in these playoff matches, who has been selected in the T20 World Cup team. 

England players will leave for their country even before the end of the league stage matches because the England team has to play a 4-match T20 series against Pakistan from May 22. The England Cricket Board has ensured that all the 15 players selected for the T20 World Cup and Pakistan series will not be able to take part in the IPL playoffs.

Four matches will be played between England and Pakistan on 22, 25, 28 and 30 May. After this, on May 31, all the players and coaching staff of the team will leave for West Indies. England will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup with the match against Scotland from June 4. 

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan team will get a big blow

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals can confirm their place in the IPL playoffs. Both the teams are currently at the top of the points table but after the return of the England players, both the teams may face major setbacks. If England captain Jos Buttler will not play in the IPL playoffs with Rajasthan Royals, then opening batsman Phil Salt will be out from KKR. Both the batsmen have shown the power of their stormy batting in this IPL season.

Apart from this, it will not make any difference to Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians because no England player is playing. Moeen Ali is playing continuously in Chennai Super Kings but CSK has Rachin Ravindra as his alternative, while many English players are playing in Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore but it is impossible for both these teams to make it to the last 4.
