BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is hopeful for organizing the next edition of the marquee event completely in India.

“I hope so because it’s India’s tournament,” Ganguly said in an online conversation on Saturday.

“As much as you see the superb atmosphere in Dubai, it’s different in India. It’s absolutely madness in India with the stands full. We’d love to have it back in India.”

“I’m sure in the next seven-eight months, the COVID-19 situation will be very different, and we can host it in India with packed stands and the supporters pouring.”

He said these words while taking on the My11 Circle platform where he is a brand ambassador.

He also talked about pitches in UAE will not be low-scoring affairs despite IPL 2021 conducted in the same conditions saw many low-scores contests.

“I don’t think so. Maybe in Sharjah, it will be, because of the wickets. But Dubai is an absolute belter,” Ganguly said.

“Abu Dhabi will be a great surface to bat on, and it’s going to be a great World Cup.”

The upcoming tournament which will be conducted in UAE was supposed to be conducted in India first but due to COVID-19 high cases, it was shifted to the former nation.

India will be starting their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24th, 2021 in Dubai which will be the same place where IPL 2021 final was conducted between CSK and KKR. They will be next locking horns against New Zealand followed by Afghanistan and the other two Qualifying sides who will join Super 8 after the conclusion of the Qualifier round which will be concluded on 22nd October 2021.
