Tamil Thalaivas Could Win Pro Kabaddi Season 7: Till date, only 4 Pro Kabaddi franchises have won the title; Jaipur Pink Panthers in 2014, U Mumba in 2015, Patna Pirates thrice, in 2016 (2) and 2017, and the last Season’s Champions Bengaluru Bulls.
Fans expect to see a turn-around this year and hope a new team to ascend the throne and Tamil Thalaivas might be one of the strongest contenders for the throne.
Thalaivas, led by Ajay Thakur have assembled a balanced side with an optimum mix of youth, exuberance, experience and skill.
Let’s Have a Look at the Three Reasons Why Tamil Thalaivas Could Win Pro Kabaddi Season 7:
(1) The Trio of Ajay Thakur, Manjeet Chillar & Onyango Obiero
Ajay Thakur has been an inspirational figure for Tamil Thalaivas, transforming the underdogs Tamil Thalaivas into a nightmare for the opposition. His tactical raiding helped Tamil Thalaivas defeat big teams in the Pro Kabaddi Season 5, but despite a perfect blend of youth and experience, the team failed as a unit.
For the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League Season 7, Tamil Thalaivas have retained Ajay Thakur, Manjeet Chillar and Victor Onyango Obiero and as expected, Ajay Thakur will lead the attack.
In Pro Kabaddi Season 6, he scored 203 raid points in 22 matches setting the example from the front. He would look to change the fortunes of the team as Thalaivas has never made to the play-offs. With support from Manjeet Chhillar and Onyango, Thalaivas can go the distance.
(2) Rahul Chaudhari- The Raid Machine
Tamil Thalaivas have spent a whopping amount of 94 Lakhs in buying Rahul Chaudhari, also nicknamed “The Raid machine”, who currently holds the record for the most points in Pro Kabaddi League history (876).
This was the first occasion when Rahul Chaudhari was not retained by Telugu Titans and was bought by Tamil thalaivas.
If he can get along well in the team, he alignside, Ajay Thakur can give sleepless nights to opposition defenders
(3) The Arrival of Shabeer Bappu in the Squad
Most fans would have forgotten the lost hero Shabeer Bappu, whose heroics led U Mumba to win the trophy in Pro Kabaddi Season 2. He will play the role of third raider and could give the much-needed support to Rahul and Ajay. A long format always tests bench strength and with a name like Bappu on it, the team can carry forward the momentum.
This is a big opportunity for him to resurrect his faded career and rise like a phoenix from the ashes. He would hope to dazzle the stadium with his do or die raiding skills.
In Pro Kabaddi Season 6, he played only 6 matches and scored 7 points overall, which was way below par. He would want to change that and announce his re-arrival on the big stage.
