Yuvraj Singh Promises Six Feast in Global T20 Canada

Yuvraj Singh set for Global T20 Canada: Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who starred in the 2011 World Cup is all set to play in the Global T20 League held in Canada. The Sixer king will be playing for Toronto Nationals in the T20 tournament, which will be held between July 25 and August 11.

The former all-rounder, who retired from international cricket earlier in the month of June, is all set to play in the first of his T20 leagues around the globe.

After his inclusion in the Toronto Nationals squad, the left-hander took to twitter to make the league entertaining for the fans. In his tweet, Yuvraj also tagged the Universe Boss Chris Gayle, who will open for the Knights in the showpiece tournament. The former India batsmen asked the Caribbean legend if he is looking to smash sixes as well.

Yuvraj will join the players such as Brendon McCullum, Trent Boult, Kieron Pollard and Indian Pacer Manpreet Gony in the Toronto Nationals dressing room.

After announcing his retirement in June, the veteran all-rounder expressed his desire to play in the T20 Leagues all around the globe.

“He wrote to the board yesterday. I don’t see an issue in him getting the nod to play in overseas leagues now that he has retired from international cricket and IPL,” a BCCI source had told the PTI.

The left-hander who hit Stuart Broad for six sixes out of the park in the 2007 T20 World cup was drafted in the players’ list by Toronto Nationals also said during the retirement speech, “With BCCI’s permission I would love to go, play and have fun for this year or maybe next year. I don’t know what’s left in me. It has been a very long and hard journey and I think I deserve that. I had a word with BCCI and will have another after the announcement. Hopefully, it will be easy sailing for me.”

Total of six teams will be participating in the tournament and they will be playing a total of 22 matches with the final taking place on 11th August.
