Yuva Kabaddi Series 2023 : Everything you need to know about the competition ahead of new season!

One of the premier tournaments of Kabaddi in the the country, Yuva Kabaddi Series is back with a brand new edition scheduled to get underway from March 30 Onwards. YKS has been a very important competition for young budding Kabaddi aspirants who are looking to make a difference and represent India at the highest level.

YKS has also been a good catalyst to India’s top-tier Kabaddi league – Pro Kabaddi League in terms of providing exciting players with immense quality. The tournament is purely based on stats and the first edition of 2023 promises to offer talented players ahead of PKL season 10 Auction.

After a successful conclusion of the Winter edition 2022, YKS will travel to Pune, Maharashtra for the latest installment. Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Stadium at Kharadi will host the 1-month long event featuring 16 teams in total.

8 teams have been divided into 2 Pools – A & B. The Top 4 finishers will advance to the promotion zone, while the bottom four teams will move into the relegation zone in a single round robin format.

Promotion Zone

All teams will advance to the playoffs after a single round robin match and then they will compete for the positions that will determine their route there.

Relegation Zone

Single Round Robin – The top two teams from the zone will advance to the Play offs round as the 9th and 10th ranked teams.

Pool A will begin from 31st March while Pool B will start from 6th April onward. Below are the teams in both the Pools –

POOL (A) – Kolhapur, Palghar, Pune, Mumbai Upnagar, Raigad, Sangli, Parbhani and Latur

POOL (B) – Ahmednagar, Nashik, Mumbai Shahar, Ratnagiri, Thane, Nanded, Nandurbar and Dhule

Yuva Kabaddi Series Prize Pool for this edition –

Winner – 20 Lakhs, Runners up – 10 Lakhs, 3rd Position – 5 Lakhs, 4th Position – 2 Lakhs, 5th Postion – 1 Lakh and 6th Position – 50 Thousands

Best Raider of the Tournament – 50,000/- & Best Defender of the Tournament – 50,000/-
