For the last few days, Suresh Raina has been in the news after his sudden departure from UAE. Suresh Raina pulled out of IPL 2020 on Friday. His decision led to a wide range of speculation on the possible reasons for his departure from CSK.

Some reports suggested that his uncle’s killing in a house attack was the reason behind his exit. Later, CSK owner, N Srinivasan said that a rift between Raina and team management over a hotel room led to Raina deciding to pull out of IPL 2020.

In a recent interview with Cricbuzz, Suresh Raina finally cleared the air behind his sudden departure from UAE. Raina said that he went back to India because of what happened with his uncle in Pathankot.

It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front. CSK is my family too and Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) is very important to me and this was a tough decision” Raina was qouted as saying in Cricbuzz.

Suresh Raina has been a prolific run-scorer for CSK in IPL. He has a part of CSK since the inaugural edition of the league. Raina also mentioned that he loves playing for CSK and might make a comeback in the IPL 2020.

“I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again.” he added

Suresh Raina went onto cleared the air on N  Srinivasan’s comment. The 33-year old cricketer spoke highly of the CSK owner and said that he shares a father and son relationship with the latter.

“He is like a father figure to me and he’s always stood by me and is close to my heart. He treats me like his younger son and am sure a lot of what he said was taken out of context. Ek baap apne bacche ko daant sakta hai(A father can scold his son). He didn’t know the real reasons for me leaving when he gave those comments.” said the CSK cricketer.
