Wrestlers Protest updates : Olympic and Commonwealth games Medalists now sleeping in the streets! How long will the Wrestling fraternity fight?

“Either we get Justice or we Die” From Wrestling with players to fighting for Justice, WFI needs to answer!

3 months ago, India’s best Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, Sarita Mor, Sangeeta Phogat and Satyawart Malik among others sat down at Jantar Mantar to protest against the runner of India’s apex Wrestling body’s president Brij Bushan Singh.

The faces of Indian Wrestling looked shattered, unhappy and in tears as they expressed their grief in a cold January morning. All they demanded for was to get justice against the “sexual harassment” that Brij Bushan Singh himself used to commit.

Vinesh Phogat had alleged the entire WFI system of harassing athletes during National camps and later gave death threats to the athletes so that nothing can come out. Later, a separate committee was formed to fulfill the Wrestlers’ demands only for them to take the streets once again.

Olympic Bronze medalist Sakshi Malik is among the protesters and she has been pretty vocal about this matter. She recently disclosed some shocking instances of the Police being monopolized by “Bahubali’s” like Brij Bushan Singh.

Malik claimed that they had to accumulate in the streets once again after a long and frustrating wait of 3 months. She said that the wrestlers are unaware of the report of their statements and grievances reaching out to the right places as Malik alleged the Police for not co-operating.

On April 21st, 7 Female wrestlers tried to file an FIR but the Police did not comply and refused to register the FIR. Among the wrestlers was also a minor who faced harassment and despite knowing all that it is shameful that not just the Police made them wait for 2 hours but also ignored them in the days to come.

Sakshi Malik herself stated that the Police department had promised to file the entire case on Monday but it was not. She would also personally call the SHO of the area but they repeatedly ignored by saying they are currently on leave.

But it was not it. Malik also claimed that Police also leaked the names of the Wrestlers to WFI and 2 coaches – Mahavir Bishnoi and Rakesh went to the houses of the Wrestlers and threatened each and everyone and also offered Bribes to them.

When the Wrestlers once again took the streets, Sakshi claimed that Delhi Police stopped the access of food and water to the Protesters. Sakshi Malik also spoke about their confidence and spoke about their will to fight until they get Justice. And if they will have to die meanwhile getting to the Truth, Wrestlers will give their life.
