WPL 2023 : Mumbai Indians Women lose their first match of the tournament against UP Warriorz!

Women’s Premier League 2023 league leaders Mumbai Indians have at last lost their first match of the tournament against UP Warriorz after a disappointing outing with the Bat.

The going has not been smooth for the Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium. Without reaching three figures before the fifteenth over, they dropped their top five. After 127 runs, they were finally all out. Alyssa Healy, a deadly batswoman, was one of the three wickets MI claimed in the first seven overs, giving them a strong defensive start.

Amelia Kerr’s victory over Tahlia McGrath, who had restarted the UPW chase, leaves the contest in doubt. The Mumbai Indians are the only unbeaten team remaining in the tournament, and they have so far appeared the part.

They have advanced to the knockout rounds, so they may want to rotate their lineup, relax a few key players, and give those who missed out some playing time. Additionally, it gives the Warriorz a chance to recover from their loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in their most recent encounter.

UPW had great expectations going into it because it was RCB’s first victory of the year. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side faces a difficult challenge if Alyssa Healy can go off like she did against RCB in the reverse match or even against MI earlier in the season.
