Willian swaps Chelsea for Arsenal, signs a three-year deal with the Gunners

Former Chelsea Forward, Willian signs a new three year deal with Arsenal.  As per the media reports, he joined Arsenal from Chelsea as he is approaching at the twilight years of his career in football, and he is hungry for further success.

He is confident that he will bring more trophy for the Gunners in the upcoming tournaments especially in the Premier League.

I decided [to join] because Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have a new project with Mikel Arteta,” said Willian.

“I think this club deserves to shine again and I want to be a part of this project – to be a part of the Arsenal family is amazing. I’m very happy to do that.

“I come to try to win trophies, because this club deserves to win again, and I think you have to do the best as possible to win every game.

I always train hard and go on the pitch giving 100 per cent to help this team to win games and to win titles as well.” He added.

He also took the name of Arsenal coach, Mike Arteta, who convinced him and assured him that he will be the important player for the club and he should join Arsenal.

The stadium and I think that with Arteta, Arsenal have a great opportunity to fight again for titles in the Premier League and in Europe so I’m very happy because of that.” He concluded.

He plays for Brazil national team at midfield position and usually known for his agile movements and attacking style of football. He represented his national team at several big events like  2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, as well as the 2015 Copa América, the Copa América Centenario, and the 2019 Copa América, a tournament Brazil won on home soil.
