Wasim Akram, the president of Karachi Kings, lost his composure following his team’s Pakistan Super League match loss against Multan Sultans by three runs (PSL). In just five PSL games thus far, Karachi has lost four times, three of them while trailing. Akram definitely felt the effects of losing close calls while chasing as the former Pakistan captain kicked a sofa that was placed in front of him. Live broadcast footage of the event, which has now gone viral on social media.

Multan scored 196/2 in 20 overs after being put into bat, helped by captain Muhammad Rizwan’s undefeated innings. Rizwan hit 10 fours and four sixes in his undefeated 110 off 64.

Together, he and Shan Masood scored 85 runs for the first wicket, with Shan Masood smashing 51 runs in just 33 deliveries before being dismissed. Thereafter, Rizwan adopted an aggressive posture and enjoyed hitting boundaries during his 109-run stand with Rilee Rossouw.

In response, Karachi got off to a fast start thanks to openers Matthew Wade and James Vince, who combined for an opening stand of 75 runs. Wade was out for 20, but Vince kept up the attack, hitting at 220.5 to reach 75 in only 34 balls.

Karachi ultimately lost by just three runs despite captain Imad Wasim’s valiant undefeated 46-run innings from 26 balls. Imad was unable to clear the fence with the last delivery, which was needed for five runs.

With the victory, Multan moved to the top of the standings with four victories out of five, while Karachi stayed in fourth place with just one victory.
