Watch: Venkatesh Prasad and Akash Chopra engaged in war of words on twitter over KL Rahul

KL Rahul‘s persistently bad performance has put him under the spotlight for the past few months. Many former cricket players and fans are shocked by the team management’s choice to offer Rahul multiple opportunities to play in the squad despite the fact that he has not played to his quality and ability.

But, KL Rahul also had terrible performances in the first two tests in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, which prompted former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad to criticise Rahul. After the first test, too, he stated Rahul had been chosen because of bias rather than on the basis of merit.

The situation has now taken on a new turn as KL Rahul’s supporter and former cricketer Akash Chopra has weighed in on the issue. Akash advised Venkatesh Prasad to refrain from criticising the batter in between the series while supporting Rahul. After Akash shared a video in which he appeared to back KL Rahul, Venkatesh became infuriated and criticized the clip.

In his tweet, Akash challenged Venkatesh to a live discussion and added, “Let’s do it. Following this, Venkatesh reacted angrily and said, “I have made my points clear.” He added, “In your 12 minute film you described me as the agenda peddler, so i don’t wish to engage with you further on this”.

KL Rahul has played 47 test matches so far in his career and has a 33.44 average. To date, he has made 2642 runs in red ball cricket. Rahul’s form in limited overs cricket has also been a matter of concern from a few time.
