CSK successfully completed their 157-run chase with seven wickets and 11 balls remaining. Rohit was captured on camera covering his face with his cap as Ambati Rayudu, who was added as an impact player, hit the winning boundary.

Ajinkya Rahane, who played in the game, scored the IPL’s quickest fifty in 19 balls to propel CSK to a seven-wicket victory. With his 27-ball 61 on his debut for Chennai, Rahane distinguished himself as the day’s top performer and helped the team reach their target of 158 with 11 balls remaining.
After Devon Conway was out for a duck, Rahane entered the pitch and immediately attacked the Mumbai attack, which was without England fast bowler Jofra Archer because of elbow pain.
South Africans Dwaine Pretorius and Sisanda Magala were selected instead of CSK’s English players Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali, who were sidelined with injuries.
Ishan Kishan (32), Cameron Green (out for 12 after a superb caught and bowled), and Tilak Varma (22) were the crucial wickets that Ravindra Jadeja took to keep Mumbai at 157-8. Jadeja, who won the game’s player of the match award, had Mitchell Santner of New Zealand’s left-arm spinners to thank for his capable assistance. Santner’s numbers were 2-28.
