The 13th game of the 17th edition of IPL was conducted between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings (DC vs CSK). The toss was won by Delhi Capitals, who chose to bat first in this match in Visakhapatnam. This match was most awaited for MS Dhoni fans as they wanted to see their thala’s batting
The opening pair of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave the dream start to the DC club with some big shots. Whereas, when Warner was in a dangerous form, Matheesha Pathirana’s attempt was terrific as he successfully caught him out and thus terminated his innings.
CSK bowler Mustafizur Rahman took the 10th over during Delhi’s innings. It was the third ball in the over and Warner was trying to connect with a pull shot. Nevertheless, his timing was out of order and the ball went up to the short third man where Pathirana took an outstanding catch.
Pathirana took an impossible catch
The ball was on the far right to Pathirana and almost everyone thought he would not make a catch. But, he proved everyone wrong by taking a great catch after diving and that’s turning into the catch of the tournament. He made a diving catch with a full stretch on his right hand to his right that looked like he was flying. Thus, deep in regret, Warner looked in disbelief. Furthermore, Dhoni thrived and applauded Pathirana for his exquisite catch.

The team of Chennai Super Kings has been a synonym for extraordinary fielding. The best skipper of that season, and now a legend, MS Dhoni’s army showed the world what a good fielding can do with even DC as its opposition.
Warner scored 52 runs in 35 balls, which included five fours and three sixes. He and Prithvi Shaw together scored 93 runs for the first wicket and brought the team in a good position. The dismissal of Warner resulted in the wicket of Shaw as well before he could spend some time with the bat. The Indian opener went back to pavilion after scoring 43 runs in 27 balls. He played a splendid innings consisting of four boundaries and two sixes.
