Tough times for Indian cricket fans continue as the hunt for an ICC trophy for the first time since 2013 is still far from getting completed. Since the ICC Champions trophy, the senior Indian team have failed to land a single major trophy as they have choked time in time out at the most crucial stages.
Expectations from the Indian women’s team was much higher than any particular year because of the U-19 team’s success at the South African soil. Shafali Verma and her young brigade became the inaugural champions of the T20 World cup and also landed a first trophy for Women’s Indian team.
However, that success was not replicated in the senior world cup. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. failed to put up a match winning performance when it was required the most. In the semi-final against Australia, bowling as well as fielding howlers from India is one of the reason to blame.
India dropped many easy catches and the Aussies as usual took advantage. And while chasing the target of 173, the top-3 batters flopped and shared only 15 runs between them. Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues tried their best to get India over the line but both of them got out in the most unfortunate manner.

Jemimah Rodrigues feathered an unplayable bouncer while Harmanpreet Kaur got run-out while she was playing at 52. The Indian captain was absolutely frustrated after getting out and she was reduced to tears after the match as well. Yesterday she took to twitter to express her thoughts and gave a message to the fans.
This is for all our fans across the globe who have supported us throughout this World Cup . I thank you for believing in our journey. I know as a cricket fan it’s sad to see your team loose . All I can say is that we will come back strongly and put a great show out there .🙏🏼🇮🇳
