In the IPL, which is known for its lavish spending, 37 runs have twice been scored in a single over. The most in a single over was that. The first time it occurred was when P.Parameswaran of Kochi Tuskers Kerala gave up 37 in a game against RCB in 2011. The next time it occurred was in 2021 when RCB’s Harshal Patel allowed CSK to score that many runs.
