UCL News : Erling Haaland deemed fit for Man City's upcoming clash against Bayern Munich in Quarter-finals!

Norwegian International Erling Haaland after missing out on playing against Liverpool last weekend at the Etihad, is all set to return for Manchester City tomorrow against bottom of the table outfit Southampton. The Cityzens will travel to the South Coast against the Saints who are in desperate need of wins to retain Premier League status next season.

The Saints following the suspension of Ralph Hasenhuttl have only gone downwards under the leadership of Ralph’s assistant Ruben Selles. They have lost 18 games this season, winning 6 and drew 5. Moreover, they haven’t won a single game since 17 Feb and are on a 7 match losing streak.

But on the other side, it could be a perfect opportunity for Erling Haaland to gain some momentum before City welcomes Bayern Munich at the Etihad for the UEFA Champions League Qtr. final’s 1st Leg. The goal scoring machine had sustained an injury in his last City game against Burnley (FA Cup) where he actually bagged a hat-trick.

The 21-year-old also pulled out of Norway’s EURO 2024 qualification matches’ first round last month. But recent reports have suggested that Haaland is completely fit and is ready to feature in the high-profile clash against German opponents.

“He’s been training really good, he will be ready. Bayern Munich is my last thought.”  – said City manager Pep Guardiola. The 52-year-old also spoke about City’s chances for their 3rd consecutive PL title, something which never been done before in the club’s history.

He said that they have been in similar situations a lot of times and the only thing that can possibly be done at the moment is win every single match. “If we drop points Arsenal will be champions in advance, if we win, win, win, we might be champions at the end of the season. We are used to it, it’s not a problem.”
