Tottenham defender Serge Aurier's brother Christopher shot in France

Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier’s younger brother Christopher Aurier has been shot to death in Toulouse, France on Monday. The footballer’s brother was reportedly shot in the stomach region outside a night club and after the incident, the killer escaped from the spot. 

He was immediately taken to the hospital but later confirmed dead by the medical officials. Christopher was a professional footballer like his brother and they both started their career with RC Lens. 

Serge’s club released a statement on his brother’s birthday expressing their grief on his loss as is said:

“The club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning.

“We are supporting Serge at this difficult time and we ask that the privacy of the player and his family is respected. Everybody at the club sends their sincerest condolences to Serge and his family. Our thoughts are with them all.”

Locals had initially found the body of Christopher lying with two gunshots on his body and heavy bleeding from his stomach. The police started the investigation immediately after taking him to the hospital where he was declared dead. 

Christopher used to play for France’s fifth division team Rodeo Toulouse and he had previously played for Racing Club de Lens, Gueugnon, Chantilly and Belgian club Rebecq. 

While his brother is currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and also the skipper of Ivorian national football team.

It is not confirmed if Serge would be the part of the side in the next game against Newcastle which is scheduled to be played on Wednesday this week.
