Tony Ura, a cricket player from Papua New Guinea, was born on October 15, 1989. Right-handed batsman Ura is an opening batsman for the national men’s cricket team of Papua New Guinea.
Playing Cricket Career
Following Tony Ura’s participation in age group cricket for the Papua New Guinea Under-19s in the 2008 and 2010 Under-19 World Cups, Tony Ura went on to be chosen for the Papua New Guinea squad for the 2011 World Cricket League Division Three, where Tony Ura played six matches and assisted them in getting promoted to the 2011 World Cricket League Division Two. Tony Ura played Bermuda in this competition, marking his List A debut. Tony participated in five more List A games during the competition, with Hong Kong being his final opponent. Tony played in 6 games during the campaign, scoring 92 runs at a batting average of 15.33 with a 52-run half-century high. This result was obtained against the cricket team of Bermuda.
On November 8, of the year 2014, Ura played in his first One Day International (ODI) for Papua New Guinea against Hong Kong in Australia.
