Following a close contest between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir encountered into an intense dispute that garnered more media attention than the game itself.

The altercation was sparked by pacer Naveen Ul Haq, and when Gambhir became involved, it grew worse. The specifics of what was stated during this dispute between the two legendary actors who were both born in Delhi are now known.
The altercation reportedly began when Kyle Mayers questioned Virat Kohli about how the RCB star was consistently insulting him and the squad, and things only got worse from there, based on an eyewitness.

“You saw on TV that Mayers and Virat were walking side by side for a few metres post match. Mayers asked Kohli why was he constantly abusing them and Virat, in turn, questioned why was he (Mayers) ‘staring’ at him? Before that (Amit) Mishra had complained to umpire about Virat constantly abusing Naveen (ul-Haq), who is a No. 10 batter.”

Gautam Gambhir intervened after spotting Mayers and Kohli arguing and drew the West Indian apart. The eyewitness then divulges the specific phrases that Kohli and Gambhir spoke during the argument.

1. “Gautam asked ‘Kya bol raha hain bol'(What were you saying?) and Virat replied, ‘Maine aapko kuch bola hi naahin, aap kyon ghus rahein ho’ (Why are you coming in between when I haven’t told you anything).

2. Gambhir responded, ‘Tuney agar mere player ko bola hai, matlab tune meri family ko gaali diya hai. (You abused my player and that’s like abusing my family) and Virat’s reply was, ‘Toh aap apne family ko sambhal ke rakhiye’. (Then you take care of your family).

3. “Gambhir’s final reply before they were separated was, ‘Toh ab tu mujhe sikhayega…’ (So now I have to learn from you…).”
