''There cannot be a bigger cricketer than MS Dhoni'' Says Ex-India Great

Even though former India captain MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020, he still has a sizable fan base. Dhoni, who still competes with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, is one of the league’s top drawers for spectators. Dhoni’s popularity is undeniable everywhere he goes, not just in Chennai.

Prior to CSK’s match against the SunRisers Hyderabad, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh opined that Dhoni enjoys a larger following than anyone else in the nation.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the sole example. He is the greatest cricketer India has ever produced. He could have scored more runs or taken more wickets, but no one has a larger fan base than he has, according to Harbhajan on Star Sports.

Harbhajan, who played for CSK and the Indian team while Dhoni was captain, believes that the seasoned wicketkeeper-batter has taken the fandom with nothing but gratitude.

“Dhoni appreciates his teammates and has taken this fandom to heart. Even though Dhoni has been carrying this love and feeling in his heart for 15 years and hasn’t altered at all, anyone else would go insane watching him stroll around.

The 41-year-old, who has won numerous awards in both franchise and international cricket, is one of the most successful leaders in the history of the sport.

The only Indian skipper to have triumphed in all three ICC championships is Dhoni. He also guided CSK to four IPL titles.

The Indian side that won the 2011 World Cup under Dhoni’s leadership included Harbhajan Singh.
