Team India Squad and Probable Playing 11 for the World Test Champion Final

We are just one sleep away from the big game we have all been waiting for for a long time now: the 2023 World Test Championship Final. Both teams have completed their preparations and are all set to fight for the title of World Test Champion in 2023. Let us have a look at the squad of the Indian team for the mega match and what their possible playing 11 could be.

The India squad for the big final is as follows:

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, K.S. Bharat, Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammad Siraj

According to me, eight spots are more or less confirmed in the playing 11, and there is no debate regarding those positions.
The openers are confirmed as Rohit Sharma, the captain, and Shubman Gill.

Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to bat at 3, with India’s premier batter, Virat Kohli, coming in at 4. The comeback man, Ajinkya Rahane, is predicted to bat at number 5, and Ravindra Jadeja, who has shown brilliant all-round skills in the past 2-3 years, will be batting at number 6 in the Indian team.

There is still a doubt over who will keep wickets for India and bat at 7, whether Ishan Kishan or K.S. Bharat. In my opinion, India should go with Kishan, as he brings that attacking batting to the team and that x-factor role that Rishabh Pant played.

The management is yet to confirm whether they will go with four pacers and Ravindra Jadeja or whether they will play an extra spinner and Ravichandran Ashwin will get a game on English soil. I think they should play Ashwin as the second spinner, as he brings a lot of experience to the team and also bats well.

The three-man pace attack will surely include Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj, as they have been in exceptional form in recent times.

Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur seem to be the top two options for the third slot, but India could bring a surprise left-arm option in the form of Jaydev Unadkat as well.
