Some important facts related to Esports event in reference to Asian Games 2022 in detail

Esports event is all set to be included in the upcoming Asian Games scheduled in Hangzhou, China with 8 games events on the line which include- PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valour, Dota 2, League of Legends, Dream three Kingdoms 2, Hearthstone and Street Fighter V. 

Overall 8 medal events would mean in total 24 medals will be up for grabs in the upcoming Continental showpiece event in China. 

There will be two more demonstration games -Robot Masters & VR Sports will be played as a demonstration event in the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022. 

 

“I believe we have ticked all the right boxes ensuring a high level of competition which promises great viewing for enthusiasts and casuals alike,” said OCA Director General, Husain Al-Musallam.

“We at the OCA are looking forward to working closely with our friends at the Asian Electronic Sports Federation and the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee to ensure a successful execution of the esports event at the 2022 Asian Games.” Asian  Esports Federation official said.

The Asian Electronic  Sports Federation will be responsible for all the operations related work in Asian Games 2022.  It is a major jump as the Asian Games 2018 was pilot event. 

 

India’s Tirth Mehta won Bronze medal in Hearthstone demonstration event at the 2018 Asian Games.  The inclusion of Esports in Asian Games 2022 will be the biggest stepping stone in the fastest growing ecosystem.
