Shiva Thapa is an Indian boxer from Guwahati, Assam, who was born to Nepali origin father Padam Thapa, who was a karate instructor in Guwahaati. In the year 2012 he became the youngest Indian to qualify for the Olympics. He is trained at the Pune-based Army Sports Institute and is supported by Olympic Gold quest and Angelian media hunt company, a company that identifies new talent and nurture them for bigger competitions.

He is currently ranked third at the AIBA World Boxing championships and is the only third Indian to win gold at the Asian games. He is currently an Account manager at the Midland credit management.

Shiva Thapa is the youngest of all the six siblings born to Padam Thapa, his elder brother Govind Thapa is also a state level boxer. According to the legend Shiva use to wake up early at 3:00 AM to practice and balance time between studies and sports.

His father was a street food vendor and arranging fees for Shiva training was hard, but when things looked impossible, Olympic gold quest, a non-profit organization decided to support the boxer and ensured a monthly expenditure of ₹30,000 on Shiva. And rest as we say is history.
