Career
Following his success at the under-18 level, Ahmad was named to the Dutch academy squad in the month of October of the year 2020. In September of that year, Shariz Ahmad played for the Dutch side in the under-19 qualifying matches for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Shariz Ahmad also had the most wickets in the group for the Netherlands.
International Career
Ahmad received his first senior international call-up in the month of February of the year 2022 after being selected for the Dutch limited overs squads’ trip of New Zealand. Shariz Ahmad was included in the Dutch One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against the West Indies in the month of May of the year 2022. On June 2, of the year 2022, Shariz Ahmad played against the West Indies in his first One Day International (ODI).
Shariz Ahmad was included in the Netherlands’ Twenty 20 International (T20I) team in the month of July of the year 2022 for the Zimbabwe-hosted ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier B competition. On July 11, of the year 2022, Shariz Ahmad played his first T20 International for the Netherlands against Papua New Guinea. With 2/15 against New Zealand in the first Twenty 20 International (T20I), Shariz Ahmad was the Netherlands’ top bowler.
