Early Life
He was born on 27th January 1969, a date remembered in New Zealand for being the birthday of one of the most prolific players the national team has ever seen. He was born in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, a town which has remembered his as one of the, if not the, best cricketer to have come out of the town. He showed great progress in cricketing from a young age, as while he was not a part of any club, he is reported to have been the best player in his neighborhood.
