Shaheen Afridi Bamboozled Jos Buttler in T20 Blast Match

On Sunday, Nottinghamshire defeated Lancashire by a margin of five wickets in their previous T20 Blast 2023 game. Nottinghamshire, playing at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, bowled Lancashire out for 145 runs after Matthew Carter claimed a three-wicket haul. Later, with five wickets and seven balls remaining, the team led by Steven Mullaney chased down the score. Although Nottinghamshire’s combined bowling effort was what enabled them to win, Shaheen Afridi‘s removal of Jos Buttler stood out as a particularly noteworthy moment.

Buttler was clean bowled on the final ball of the fifth over of Lancashire’s innings after being thoroughly taken for a ride by Shaheen’s lightning-fast delivery. Off-stump flew away because of how intensely it was delivered. Buttler left the game having scored 23 runs.

Liam Livingstone, the captain of Lancashire, led the team in scoring with 34 runs, followed by Daryl Mitchell with 31. Carter took three wickets for Nottinghamshire, while Shaheen, Jack Brooks, and Calvin Harrison each claimed two.

Later, Joe Clarke scored an important knock of 42 off 24 balls to lead his team over the finish line.

Now, Lancashire will play Worcestershire on Wednesday, and Nottinghamshire will play Durham in their subsequent T20 Blast 2023 match on Thursday. Buttler recently represented Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023.
