Sergio Busquets: The Barcelona legend will leave the club after 18 years.

Sergio Busquets

After 18 years of service, the Barca legend and current captain has announced that he will leave Barcelona. At the end of this season, he will complete his career at Camp Nou and depart the club as a free agent.

Barcelona apparently wanted to keep the experienced Spaniard since his contract expires at the conclusion of this season. They made him an offer, but Busquets was reportedly unwilling to accept it and chose to explore his future elsewhere. Due to Barcelona’s present financial struggles, they were only able to offer a deal worth 30% of the midfielder’s current salary, which led Busquets to choose to leave with his final La Liga trophy, which they would certainly win.

It marks the end of an era because the midfielder was the lone survivor of Pep Guardiola’s unbeatable Barcelona squad during the 2008–09 campaign. He was a member of the most dangerous midfield to ever play the game. He participated in 719 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals and providing 45 assists while making his senior team debut for Barcelona at the age of just 19.

He is one of the most celebrated players at Barcelona and has won numerous tournaments with the club. –

To entice Messi to their team, Al Hilaal is reportedly interested in signing Sergio Busquets. Therefore, it is nearly a given that Busquets will play in the MLS or the Saudi League. There are also rumours that Messi and Busquets would play for Al Hilaal together, as they have promised one another, and the team is also attempting to get Jordi Alba to give Messi a comfortable setting.
