The match was played at the Queens Sports Club in Zimbabwe, and Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first. Scotland started well, Christopher McBride and Matthew Cross put up a 56 runs partnership. Captain Richie Berrington got out early but Brendon McMullen and Munsey played a crucial knock of 34 and 31 runs, respectively. Some quick runs towards the end of the innings from Micheal Leask saw Scotland post a respectable total of 234 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.

Zimbabwe had a poor start, losing 4 wickets on just 37 runs. However, Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza fought back, scoring runs to keep the pressure on Scotland. Burl scored a superb 83 runs for Zimbabwe, but he lacked support from the other batsmen. Burl’s innings of 83 runs off 84 balls was not enough to take Zimbabwe to victory, and they were bowled out for 203 runs in 41.1 overs.
The victory for Scotland was thanks to some excellent bowling performances. Chris Sole took three wickets for 33 runs in his 7 overs. McMullen and Leask also picked up two wickets each.
