SA vs ENG: Proteas Cricketers Test Negative for Coronavirus

South Africa Cricket Team Schedule

All the South African player who were part of the ongoing ODI series against England have been tested negative for the coronavirus. This information was confirmed by Cricket South Africa(CSA) on Saturday. The first ODI was postponed between South Africa and England after a home team player was found positive with COVID-19. The information about the postponement was announced by Cricket South Africa who released a press statement.

“Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to announce that the entire Proteas team has returned negative results from the COVID-19 tests that were conducted yesterday evening in Cape Town ahead of the three-match, One-Day International (ODI) series against England,” CSA said in an official statement.

As all the players now have been tested negative with Coronavirus so the  new statement from CSA  has confirmed that the ODI series will start from Sunday at Eurolux Boland Park, Paarl and the remaining games will be played at Newlands on December 6 and 7 respectively.

“Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the England Cricket Board (ECB) would like to announce the postponement of the first One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series to Sunday, 06 December 2020,” CSA had said.

England have outclassed host in a 3 match T20 series held before with their sublime performance from individual players like Jos Butler, David Malan and Johnny Bairstow. However several reports were circulating where Doctors advised that Bio Secure Bubble kept in place for host and visitors in the ongoing series is not safe and due to which series between the two sides might be called off.

But the new statement from Cricket South Africa has clarified all the speculation that the series between two teams will go as planned before. South Africa is certainly missing the services of Ab De Villers from the moment he has taken retirement from International cricket it seems like that management is still not able to find someone worthy who can fill the shoes of Champion cricketer who had a knack of winning games individually for his side.
