Ryan Harris signs up with Delhi Capitals as new bowling coach

Former Australian bowling fast bowler, Ryan Harris is all set to make a comeback in the Indian Premier League. Ryan Harris has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Delhi Capitals ahead of the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League. He took to Twitter to announce his comeback in the cash-rich league.

I am delighted to be back in the IPL. This is a huge opportunity for me to contribute to the franchise’s ambitions of lifting the coveted IPL Trophy.” He tweeted.

Ryan Harris was part of Deccan Charger’s squad that won 2009 IPL. He was later signed up by Kings Eleven Punjab in the 2011 auctions.

Ryan Harris played as a bowling all-rounder for the Australian national team between 2009 and 2015. His accuracy and art of swinging both ways made a handy customer with the ball. However, persistent injuries throughout his career meant he couldn’t reach great heights in his career.

Ryan Harris played 27 Tests and 21 One-Day Internationals for Australia, picking 113 and 44 wickets respectively. He has 5 five-fors in one-day internationals and three in Tests.

As far as his IPL performance is concerned, he played 37 matches, picking 45 wickets at an average of 23.27. 2020 edition will see him making his comeback in the league as the bowling coach of Delhi Capitals.

Indian Premier League is all set to commence from 19th September 2020 and the final will be played on 10th November 2020. The players of all the franchises have landed UAE and is currently serving seven-day isolation period.
