Manchester United wants to sign Wolves duo Jimenez and Neves

According to the transfer pundits, the Old Trafford based outfit have contacted Wolves over the availability of their striker Raul Jimenez and holding midfielder Ruben Neves as United are looking for a big swoop in the January Transfer window. As mentioned earlier, the Norweigan manager is expected to welcome one or two new signings to Stretford End with Ed Woodward on his toes to back the former Cardiff and Molde manager despite the poor run at the helm.

After worst ever start to the 2019-20 campaign, Red Devils seemed to look like turning the things around with back to back wins but to lose against 20th placed Watford and, only to lose to bottom-placed Watford and struggling Arsenal over the festive period.

Manchester United currently sit fifth in the Premier League points table below Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. On the other hand, executive director Ed Woodward is ready to splash the money in the winter transfer window to increase the chances of the top four. According to sports outlets, Manchester United have made contact with Wolves’ players Jimenez and Neves, inquiring into the availability of the two players.

Under Nuno Esperito Santo, Raul Jimenez is enjoying a wonderful season for Wolverhampton Wanderers. The player has scored 17 goals in 34 games which have caught the eyes of Manchester United who lack a back-up striker after the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. With Erling Braut Haaland joining Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United are eager to sign a quality striker and Raul Jimenez has emerged as a major transfer target. Even though Wolves are not in a mood t sell but it is said that if the evaluations are met, Wolves are ready to let their striker go to Old Trafford.

According to Goal.com, Red Devils are also in touch with midfielder Ruben Neves and are discussing the possibility of a winter move with the midfielder’s agents. The star midfielder has also impressed the European giants but the player is looking for a move to Italy. On the other hand, former United striker is looking to add a creative midfielder in the window but Eriksen and Maddison are the distant probabilities Eriksen is highly touted to join Inter in the transfer window.

After linking with loads of players once again, Red Devils manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responded in a different fashion. He opined;

‘Another good player we’ve been linked with. It’s loads of players being linked with us. ‘I thought when he came on he did really well today but I can’t comment on these speculations.’

Manchester United couldn’t open up the Wolverhampton Wanderers defense with their relatively younger side in the FA Cup third-round fixture. On the other hand, Manchester United will be facing cross-city rivals on Tuesday evening in the Carabao Cup tie.
